A few extra tips to think about when you pop the question, wherever you choose to ask: 

1. Make sure your significant other’s hands are in tip-top shape. Encourage them to use a new hand cream or book them a surprise manicure. 
2. Try not to act too tense if you want the proposal to be a surprise (might be easier said than done!). 
3. Hire a photographer to capture the moment on camera. 
4. Have a tissue in your pocket and expect tears of joy!
