At Liberty Pearl Photography, we specialise in relaxed, at-home newborn sessions that allow you to slow down and simply be. No rushing out the door, no pressure to pose, just quiet moments, soft light, and the natural rhythm of your family life as it unfolds.
Our lifestyle approach focuses on connection over perfection. We capture the details that matter most: tiny toes curled up in your lap, the way your baby rests against your chest, the tenderness in a sibling’s gaze. Our at-home newborn photo shoots in Plymouth are designed to feel effortless. We come to you, so you don’t have to worry about leaving the house in those tender early days. No studio lights, no awkward posing, just natural light, real moments, and beautiful storytelling.

From the first message to the final gallery, our goal is to make your experience simple, calm, and deeply personal.
Once you get in touch, we’ll guide you through everything, from choosing the perfect time for your session to what to wear and how to prepare your space. You’ll receive a thoughtful style and prep guide, and we’ll chat about any special details you’d love captured.
On the day of your session, there’s no pressure to perform. We follow your baby’s lead, embracing pauses for feeding, changing, or just a quiet cuddle. I’ll gently guide you into natural light and soft connection, letting your family simply be.
After the shoot, your images are lovingly edited in my signature light and airy style, then delivered in a beautiful online gallery—ready to download, print, and treasure forever.
It’s a slow, gentle process designed to honour the season you’re in—so you can hold onto these early days, always.
Guiding you gently through your session
We love ‘on location’ photo shoots especially as there’s plenty of beautiful scenery here in the South West! Whether this is on the beach, in the park or in the woodland, using a natural backdrop will provide the perfect setting for your photographs.
We love photo shoots to be fun, with children laughing and smiling, so somewhere that everyone enjoys and loves, or that has a special meaning is the best place for the session. It will take time, however, for the group to get used to the camera so I’ve found that a family walk with a few stops for photos is the best approach.
Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor, Bigbury Beach, Cardinham woods and Mount Edgcumbe are some of our favourite locations, especially at sunset! However, if you would prefer a more traditional photo shoot, we are equally experienced with capturing formal family occasions, in-studio or in-home life style shoots. We can change location if the wind is high or rain is forecast, that's not a problem. Even though we plan as much as possible before hand, we are very flexible.
Choose a location
Creating beautiful and relaxed images takes time. We shoot a maximum of two outdoor portrait sessions a day. The photo shoots last between 1 and 3 hours. We are able to shoot any day of the week, some weekends and evenings too.
We can help choosing a location, what to wear and plan the style of the shoot using a Pinterest mood board. The shoot can be as planned or relaxed as you need.
When you book your family photoshoot we send across our booking forms and questionnaires so we know all the details of the day.
We also plan a few backup dates just in case the weather is awful on your preferred photo shoot day, we will move the photo shoot free of charge if the weather isn't going our way.
Planning your photoshoot
We will confirm the session is going ahead the night before, the outdoor shoots are usually weather dependent, unless they happen to be in a covered woodland.
When we arrive we capture you being YOU. It’s all about those authentic family experiences together, laughing, jumping, kissing, chasing one another and running wild. Those natural moments in your favourite place, whether that be climbing trees in the woodland, splashing in the sea or cuddled up together at home. We are honoured to capture your love, your joy and happiness (and even the toddler tantrums too!). Our organic style captures your personalities and those intimate moments between you, naturally and effortlessly, saving all that we see.
On the day Your Family Photoshoot Day
You will receive you full set of family photos within 7-10 days via an online Pixieset Gallery. You have full print rights to the images so you can download them, make your own album, print some beautiful canvases for you walls at home, or print photographs for family members. The gallery is password protected.
We also offer a printing and family album service with our partner professional print labs Sim Imaging and Loxely.
We would to share your beautiful family photoshoot on our social media, however we will wait for your written permission before we do so, and if you don't feel comfortable sharing your precious collection that's totally fine, we understand that some families prefer complete privacy.
