This week has been exceptionally busy and equally as rewarding. On Thursday, Plymouth College of Art helped me host the latest Women in Photography Conference. And I’m delighted to say that the event and the resulting exhibition were featured on BBC Radio Devon in the morning and BBC South West’s Spotlight news programme in the evening.
The conference has very quickly become recognised as the platform to showcase female creative talent in Devon and Cornwall, where passionate like-minded women come together to support each other to celebrate each other’s successes, learn from each other’s challenges and to empower each other to focus on solutions.
I have been organising these events every three months since 2016 and as a result hundreds of women have been inspired and encouraged by industry respected speakers.
An added bonus to everything that we do is that the proceeds go to local charities which benefit women.
I’m delighted that a big focus of the BBC South West Spotlight News piece was about the exhibition itself as when I launched it last year, the response was literally overwhelming. We received no fewer than 400 entries from local female photographers. It has been such a wonderful way to be able to showcase the extraordinary talent that we have across the South West. Shortlisting the images which would be on display, and then be sold in our Etsy store was no mean feat. It took a panel of xxxx and xxxx to whittle down those 400 entries to just xxx.
I’m a firm believer in focusing on community above competition and collaborating as much as possible with other local companies and entrepreneurs wherever possible. There are too many people to thank for all their help in making the Women in Photography events, a success.
But I would like to give a special mention to Jane Prior from Plymouth College of Art and the Women in Photography Community for their input, guidance and encouragement to help make these events what they are.
I hope that you enjoy the interviews…

We have are now offering wedding videography in Devon and Cornwall to our services and would love to share our most recent wedding highlights film with you.
After sharing the film less than a week ago, we have had 5 bookings for wedding videography! and have been asked by a number of our current wedding couples if they can have wedding photography and videography and the answer is YES!
Many of our past couples said they wished they had captured their wedding with videography and regretted not doing so. I had a wedding film and absoltely loved every second of it, it brought a tear to my eye watching the 3 minute movie, I think I must have watched it over 50 times before I went to bed that night. There were so many little moments, reactions, smiles, tears and expressions captured that we would have never seen if it weren’t for our video.
After hearing so many couples saying they regretted not having wedding videography, I thought I would try and capture some of the love, joy and happiness I am exposed to at weddings in a highlights film.
We are extremely happy with the results of our destination wedding highlights film captured in Ibiza in June 2017 …..as were our lovely bride and groom Alice and Luke!
Please watch their 3 minutes of happiness in the highlights film below
If I had to decide between wedding videography and wedding photography, I simply wouldn’t be able to….. they are both so beautiful and so special in their own way….
However if you have videographer you can replay the most special moments in your life. You may not think you want to relive every minute, but after the day you have been meticulously planning for months flies by in what feels like seconds, you will be desperate for a way to remember it.
It is important to remember that not all of our friends or family can attend an event due to health problems, conflicting schedules, or unexpected emergencies. Therefore a beautifully edited wedding film will be of great comfort to those friends and family who were not able to make the event itself as the entire day will be saved from start to finish forever, so that you can relive your perfect day over and over and share it with those most important to you.
We use the same cameras to capture images and film, we still capture your day with a natural, unobtrusive, relaxed, reportage approach so there is no need to worry about any extra interference on the day. The only thing you might see is a tripod during the ceremony and speeches but we will try and blend it in as much as we can.
We offer wedding videography in Devon and Cornwall, and also in London, Brighton, Scotland…. in fact we cover the whole of the UK!
You can also book our services for destination wedding videography in Ibiza, France, Greece, Italy, New York, you name it we can go there, and did I mention we love to travel…..
Please contact us for our price list for wedding videography. You will receive up to £500 off if you also book your wedding photography or elopement with us.
Remember: A wedding is a live event, not a single moment. Make sure you get it captured right – you’re only going to do it once.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Have a beautiful week xxx
