Photographing a wedding is always a momentous occasion. When it takes place at a new coastal wedding venue like Pier One in Plymouth, the experience is truly unforgettable. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing the special day of a local couple who tied the knot at this picturesque location.

Pier One: The Oceanside Pier Venue

The excitement of the day began as soon as I arrived at the venue. The stunning view of the ocean and the newly constructed venue overlooking the pier was breathtaking. The bride and groom had chosen a nautical theme for their wedding, with navy blue and white as their primary colors. The ambiance was festive, with guests arriving dressed in summer suits and flowy dresses.

Arriving in Style

One of the highlights of the wedding was the arrival of the groom and his groomsmen by boat. The wedding party docked their vessel at the pier, and we captured some stunning photos of the groom and his friends as they made their way to the venue. The Ceremony

After the ceremony, we moved on to the reception, which was held in the newly constructed banquet hall. The décor was exquisite, with nautical-inspired centrepieces, and navy blue tablecloths. The happy couple made their grand entrance, and the guests cheered as they danced their way to the dance floor. We captured some fantastic moments of the couple as they danced and enjoyed the festivities.

A Special Guest Arrives

Yes, the couple had their furry friend with them at the wedding, and they wanted to capture some special moments with him. At 4 pm, their dog walker brought their beloved pup to the venue. We went off and captured some beautiful photos of the couple with their dog.

The couple’s furry friend was impeccably behaved and looked adorable in his bowtie. We captured some candid shots of the couple playing with their dog and some more formal portraits with the three of them.

Including their dog in the wedding photos added a unique and personal touch to the pictures. It was a reminder of the love and bond that the couple shares not only with each other but also with their furry family member.

A Beautiful End to the Day

After leaving their guests behind, the couple made their way to the Hoe where they had previously had their Plymouth Argyle-themed ‘confetti’ walk. A variety of Argyle flags added to the festivities as loved ones surrounded them. Against the stunning ocean backdrop near the lighthouse, the couple shared intimate moments away from the crowd before heading back to the venue to enjoy the rest of the evening with their friends and family.
