Emily and Mark set their sights on a traditional church wedding ceremony, and when they found Boconnoc House & Estate they were delighted to find that this Cornish wedding venue has an 800-year-old church in the middle of the estate. The couple set their new wedding date for 11th June 2022. Emily made her entrance to the ceremony to the song ‘Tale as Old As Time’, with Mark and their guests looking on with tears in their eyes. And after their church wedding ceremony, the couple welcomed their guests with a drinks reception in the summer sun on the lawns of Boconnoc House.
Once the canapés had been eaten and washed down with the welcome drinks, the wedding party made their way through to the Cornish Wedding Venue’s morning room. Guests took their seats in the heart of Boconnoc House, with Dish Cornwall serving a delicious feast. The wedding breakfast was created with local, seasonal produce. Everyone was treated to sharing starter boards.
In the evening, everyone moved outside to a tipi wedding reception on the lawns of Boconnoc House. A disco ball glittered above Emily and Mark as they stepped onto the dance floor for their first dance. Then the band kicked off the party and kept everyone dancing all night. The younger guests had a tipi of their own to play in next door.
Emily walked down the aisle in a blush gown adorned with lace appliqués. The full chiffon skirt features a flowing train. She completed her look with silver jewellery and a full-length veil. Her four bridesmaids were dressed in full-length sage green gowns. Emily and her maids carried bright, summer bouquets down the aisle in the church wedding ceremony. Mark and his four groomsmen donned traditional tartan kilts and plaid in a nod to his Scottish heritage.
The theme for Emily and Mark’s wedding at Boconnoc House was Bohemian fun. The couple wanted their day to have a chilled summer vibe with pops of colour. Posies that matched the bride’s bouquet, featuring bright sunflowers, lined the church aisle. Tressel tables were set up with colourful napkins and taper candles in brass candlesticks. Jars of peonies and sunflowers added even more colour, making Emily and Mark’s Cornish wedding venue pop.
As well as planning all of the details with the help of their wedding planner, Emily and Mark thought about how to keep their guests entertained throughout the day, too. Friends and family had fun in the sun with a variety of lawn games. And as the sun set, everyone gathered around the fire pit to toast marshmallows before the evening tipi wedding reception began.
Ahead of the wedding day, Emily and Mark told us some of the most important moments they would like captured in their photographs and video.
“Guests parting on the dance floor and our friends and family having fun and being silly throughout the day are parts we really want to capture”, explained the couple.
The firework moment made for stunning photographs too, with the couple watching the magic on one of the most exciting days of their lives.
