You may not be aware of this but here at Liberty Pearl, our Collective Team are huge fans of nature, the outdoors and Dartmoor wedding venues! We seek to reflect the rustic interior of a country house and the wild landscapes surrounding it. We use the rolling hills, coastal beauty, and Devon’s landscape as the backdrop in our images to enhance the romance between couples on their special day. If there’s adventure and fun to be found then we will find it. But also intimacy and playfulness. And to do this means adapting to all weather conditions! And adapting means embracing the different seasons. Here we have a Dartmoor wedding venue with a difference. An incredible Autumn Elopement Wedding that took place at the wonderful Ever After venue on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park.
When you think about an elopement wedding what comes to mind? Couples travelling to secluded locations to avoid the expense or pressure of organising a large event? There are many reasons why but for certain couples like Leanne and Sam, it wasn’t about pressure. They knew what they wanted to say, how it should look and who they were going to share it with. These intimate ceremonies are also called Micro-weddings and continue to grow in popularity each year.
We were delighted to photograph Leanne and Sam’s special day at the incredible Ever After wedding venue in Dartmoor. The weather is often unpredictable in that area of Devon, especially during the Autumn months, but they picked a wonderful day. One that gave us the freedom to venture away from the venue and walk deeper into the surrounding woods. There we found ruins covered with moss, a beautiful tunnel of trees and a waterfall. This natural beauty set the tone nicely for the day and worked perfectly with Leanne’s stylistic choices.
With a colour palette of pinks, purples and peaches, this ceremony simply took our breath away. Leanne wore a stunning ivory chiffon dress with beautiful shoulder and back detail. The relaxed look worked perfectly with her flowers, which complimented the theme with that all-important pop of colour. Sam’s autumnal brown waistcoat and bow tie was an incredible choice that brought them photogenically into alignment with each other. Rustic and natural were definitely the order for the day and the wild foliage finished the bouquet off perfectly. This was another fantastic decision that enhanced the overall theme and of course, Leanne’s gorgeous flower crown.
It really was something quite beautiful and we loved how adventurous the bride and groom were on their special day. Nature has a way of helping couples forget about the camera. This gives us the freedom to capture those intimate and special moments that you will cherish. It’s a privilege for us to share that with you.
It was also great to work with a very talented team of suppliers.
