Award winning wedding photographer Liberty Pearl is hosting a wedding photography business workshop at the beautiful Ocean Studios in Plymouth on Tuesday 10th April 2018.
If you are an aspiring wedding photographer who would like to learn how to start a successful business then this course is for you. The course will give you insight into the real world of wedding photography, and the confidence to become a successful professional wedding photographer. Attending this course and implementing the advice given will save you valuable time, which you can spend doing the things you love. I have designed this course for people who want to have a successful wedding photography business.
The workshops are organised by me, Amber Leach, founder of Liberty Pearl Photography an award winning wedding photography business. I quit my well paid full time job to start a wedding photography business in November 2013. I started completely from scratch, with no business training whatsoever. I can honestly say that there have been many challenges and mistakes made along the way. I worked all the hours of the day and night to make my business succeed, but if I had been told the things I know now, I would have saved myself a lot of time, money, and sleepless nights.
I believe that everyone has the ability to create a successful business that they are not only proud of, passionate about, but also completely in love with! My company is less than 3 years old and has already achieved the following accolades: Winner of Plymouth’s Top Photographer 2015, nominated for The Guardian best new start up award 2014, finalist in the Westcountry Wedding Awards 2015, finalist in the South West Wedding Awards 2016, The Wedding Industry Awards 2017 & 2018.
I have set up this workshop to give photographers the head start that I never had, to tell them where I went right and where I went wrong. It takes a real leap of faith to start a business. However, in the first 12 months Liberty Pearl Photography turned over £44,000 and the second year achieved an even higher turnover, in my fourth year I achieved 6 figures. This was down to hard work and determination but also a lot of trial and error. When I started my business there were no courses to help address the needs of a new wedding photography business, and I wish there had been. Generic start up business courses were available, however they just weren’t creative or specific enough and I couldn’t relate my business to the advice they gave. In 2017 I reached the 6 figure turnover milestone for her business and I would love to help you achieve the same results in your business.
I went from working in large structured organisations to being self employed working from home. I have to admit I felt quite lonely sat in my home office 5 days per week. I craved the fellowship of other ‘people like me’, I didn’t have anyone to run my ideas past, share my triumphs with, or receive encouragement from when things weren’t going as planned. I missed having someone to share my passion with, and I needed the understanding of somebody else in a similar situation. It is proven that friends at work form a strong social support network for each other, both personally and professionally. Whether rooting for each other on promotions, consoling each other about mistakes, giving advice, or providing support for personal situations, comradeship at work can boost an employee’s spirit and provide needed assistance. I know that if I had met and collaborated with other wedding photographers back in 2013, it would have been incredibly advantageous to my business, and made my day to day life so much more enjoyable. This course will provide a unique community of like minded artists, who are passionate about taking their wedding photography business to the next level. The private members Facebook community will be an amazing source of encouragement, inspiration, friendship and opportunity.
Join us for a day of inspiration, growth, opportunity and fellowship with like minded creatives. This one day course will equip you with the tools and the confidence to start a successful wedding photography business from scratch that you will be proud of. This is not a substitution for hard work but something which will help you work smarter and therefore be successful quicker. I believe that anything is possible and if I can create a successful business that I am passionate about and life that I love then anyone can!
This is a classroom based business workshop with no live styled shoots. Please see our website for our next styled shoot workshop in Cornwall and our destination wedding photography workshop in France.

Feedback from our previous business workshop
“Amber is such an inspiration and her first workshop was an absolute joy to attend. The additional resources are superb and the support Amber has provided has been amazing! Within a week of the course I had 9 weddings in my diary to practice as a second shooter and build my portfolio. Within 2 months I had my first paid wedding plus 6 portrait photo shoots in my dairy. I am so excited for the next workshop, which will give me the opportunity to build my portfolio even further!” Eleanor Jones Photography
“I just wanted to send you a little message to say thank you so so so much for yesterday. The workshop was so valuable and I think you done an amazing job. I have come away with so much information which I can use in a positive way with my business and am very excited to start expanding into weddings. Once again thank you so much. It was lovely to meet you and all the others who attended the course too. A fab group and a great day.” Michelle Letts – Little Star Images
