We loved photographing Megan and Jonny’s gorgeous and relaxed wedding at Dartington Hall.
Megan used to visit the manor house as a child, and knew it was the place she wanted to be married in.
It’s the largest medieval manor house in the West of England and it’s easy to see why it’s described as “possibly one of the most romantic venues in the South West.”
Both from Exeter, Megan and Jonny met at work and he popped the question whilst they were away celebrating their second anniversary. It meant that they had two years to plan their special day, and the attention to detail shone through with their stunning peach and grey theme.
Opting for a dress by Eliza Jane Howell, they were married in the Upper Gatehouse and their reception was held in the 14th century Great Hall.
Complementing the theme, Jonny wore a Ted Baker morning coat in dark grey, with a light grey waistcoat and a peach bow tie.
Highlights include Jonny seeing Megan for the first time when the doors opened and the beautiful firework display at the end of the evening with all of their guests gathered around.
It was a picture perfect day and we’re so happy to have been able to capture it for them.

Wowee what an AMAZING year 2016 has been for Liberty Pearl Photography, we have captured 30 amazingly, beautiful, naturally love filled, magical, wonderful weddings, and we have LOVED every single one of them!
This year has been a very exciting year for Liberty Pearl Photography, firstly with Amber from Liberty Pearl Photography getting engaged at the beautiful Gidleigh Park on the edge of Dartmoor in March, then quickly married in May in a quaint little Cornish fishing village, Kingsand, Cornwall. Read about her engagement story on the How He Asked wedding blog.
We have started styling bridal photo shoots, fusing amazing up and coming and award winning wedding suppliers and boutique venues and their stunning gardens and grounds. These photo shoots have been widely published in top wedding blogs and magazines which has been awesome! We have started a series of wedding photography workshops in Devon and cornwall which have been lots of fun, a huge success and again widely published! We photographed 3 intimate elopement weddings, which were just so simple, magical and relaxed, we cannot wait to capture more of these intimate weddings in 2017.
My first wedding of the year was in January at the beautiful Cornish wedding venue Trevenna Barns. The venue is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty right on the edge of Bodmin Moor. We have photographed 3 weddings now, and have 2 more booked in for the 2017 wedding season.
During 2016 we have travelled all over the UK photographing lovely couples at incredible wedding venues. We have also been very lucky to capture destination weddings in Ireland in the Wicklow Mountains at The Kippure Estate, and in Cape Town, South Africa at the Nooitgedacht Estate. The weddings were absolutely AMAZING! We love destination weddings and have a couple more booked in the calendar for 2017 YIPPEE! View the Irish wedding on the Plans & Presents wedding blog.
We have photographed weddings in the following wedding venues over the past 12 months:
Trevenna Barns Cornwall, Kingsand Village Hall Cornwall, The Royal William Yard Plymouth, Thornbury Castle Bristol, Amelies Porthlevan, New Cottage Dance Centre Cardiff, Deer Park Hotel Devon, Colehayes Park Dartmoor, Yurt Camp Devon, New Barton Barns Devon, Polhawn Fort Cornwall, Kippure Estate Dublin, Tredudwell Manor Cornwall, Dartington Hall Devon, Bedruthen Hotel and Spa Cornwall, Clivedon House London, The Tudor Barn, Roadford Lake Devon, Pilton Glastonbury, The Green Cornwall, The Nooitgedacht Estate Cape Town South Africa, Tavistock Town Hall Devon, Ever After A Dartmoor Wedding Devon, Ayrmer Cove Devon, St Ives Town Hall, The Mill House Inn Trebarwith Strand, Anran Devon, and the wedding season finally ended with a beautiful winter wedding at another of my favourite Cornish wedding venues The Green Cornwall.
I am a very happy, friendly and relaxed lady, and my aim at every wedding was to capture the love, happiness and joy at everyone one of my 2016 weddings. I got to know as much as I could about my bride and grooms, I found out what really mattered to them on their wedding day. I offered a personalised, flexible and professional service, which put my couples at ease during their wedding planning process. My thoughtful and organised service ensured that all of my clients remained confident and reassured knowing that I was going to capture their wedding day the way THEY WANTED.
This year the weddings have been so exquisitely diverse, we have visited a host of charming and stylish wedding venues with weddings styled in so many different ways. Each and every wedding has mirrored the TRUE character of each couple. We LOVE a wedding that isn’t the traditional ‘cookie cutter’ type wedding. We love capturing weddings that reflect a couple and their personalities however quirky, non traditional and offbeat this may be.
Environmental portraits are my passion. I love framing my couples with the surrounding environment, I adore beautiful fields flowing with fresh wild flowers, stunning coastlines, rolling green hills, the wide open landscapes of Dartmoor, The Natural Trust, and forests. So if you are planning a wedding with a location like this nearby this would be my dream wedding to shoot.
We have collaborated with some super creative wedding planners, talented stylists and awesome suppliers on styled bridal shoots in Devon and Cornwall this year!
