Classically elegant wedding in Chelsea Physic Garden London

It was so beautiful to capture the union of a such lovely couple in London Chelsea Physic Garden.
The bride lives in Chelsea, her beautiful apartment is situated beside the Thames, the natural light just floods in through the huge windows. The ceremony was held in Chelsea registry office, such a beautiful historic venue which opens out onto the high street.  The wedding reception venue – Chelsea Physic Garden was surrounded by the most astonishing plants and flowers evoking a sense of an enchanted garden. The garden was founded in 1673 by the Society of Apothecaries; one of Europe’s oldest botanic gardens. Important Herb and Medicinal collections, and of Mediterranean plants.

The striking bride, covered in white from head to toe walked in white Manolo Blahnik wearing a graceful dress provided by Oscar de la Renta; classically elegant.

It was an honour to be able to photograph this day. Such a perfect fairytale wedding.

Dress: Oscar de la Renta

Winter Family photo shoot Cornwood, Plymouth, Devon

It was a beautiful day spent on an adventure with this lovely family for their special woodland winter photo shoot. The family chose the location due to the stunning pink painted oak tree; of course the girls love anything pink! The oak tree is a brilliant fluorescent shade of pink painted by Henry Bruce in the small Devon village of Cornwood.

Henry Bruce, 35, wanted to raise awareness of a fungal disease which is affecting trees across the country.

Read more about this campaign on the Daily Mail website.

It was very fun on location portrait session, the girls enjoyed exploring the woodland and playing with the leaves and fresh saw dust! As you can see there is so much love in this family and the little girls are so very cute!

I love on location natural family portraits, being a natural light photographer I love nothing more than taking a trip to the local beach, park or woodland with a family to capture them laughing and having fun.

All life stages can be photographed by Liberty Pearl Photography from maternity to 100-year-olds’ birthdays! I am comfortable shooting any age: babies, toddlers, children and adults, for both full family and individual portraits. Please contact me for further information.

Bristol Family Portrait – Vassels Park

In this gallery you can see a selection of photographs from a family photo shoot in the stunning Vassels Park in Bristol. Even in winter the park was teaming with beautiful trees and colourful flowers.

The family had a happy day and we enjoyed the inspiring nature in this unique place.

Cornish wedding at Menheniot Church / Boconnoc House and Estate – Mr and Mrs Rixon

This was such a lovely Cornish wedding at the Boconnoc House & Estate in one of Cornwall’s stunning valleys. Of course it was blessed with the typical English summer weather, the day started with torrential rain and lightening bolts, and finished with glorious sunshine and brilliant blue skies! The couple were married in the bride’s local family church in the quaint little Cornish village of Menheniot. After the ceremony they were quickly whisked off in a beautiful vintage car to Castle Air, they couple were greeted with champagne just before boarding their helicopter to the wedding venue.

I had no choice but to travel with the bride and groom to document this momentous occasion. It was superb! I was so excited I almost forgot to take photos! We arrived at the Boconnoc Estate within 10 minutes of flight, to the excited wedding guests who were waiting on the lawn with their cameras at the ready for the VIP arrival. What a way to make an entrance! The afternoon was followed with croquet on the lawn, lots of Pimms, jam and clotted cream scones, dancing and lots more fun shenanigans!

Congratulations to Briony and Edward, your wedding day was just perfect and full of so much love and happiness I know it will last a lifetime xxxx

Below is the bible verse that was read at the church wedding ceremony, it was really lovely:

1 John 4:9-12
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Autumn Winter family photo shoot in Devon – Saltram House

I wanted to test out a location for wintery family photo shoots, so Liberty Pearl and I headed down to the beautiful National Trust woodland at Saltram House in Devon. The Saltram Estate is situated on the outskirts of Plymouth, so it is the perfect spot for an on location family or pre-wedding photo shoot. The autumn trees were so beautifully coloured. We had a lovely morning walking around the gardens and woodland, and I am really happy with the photos. In fact I liked them so much we used them as our Christmas cards this year!

Saltram House is a magnificent Georgian mansion and tranquil garden positioned at the heart of this historic parkland. Saltram overlooks the River Plym and is set in a rolling landscape park that provides precious green space on the outskirts of Plymouth. Strolling along the riverside or through the woodland, you can almost forget that the city lies so close. It is definitely worth a visit.

Cornish Wedding – The Green Cornwall – Sophie and Martin

Sophie and Martin were married in March in the beautiful wedding venue The Green Cornwall. They were extremely lucky with stunning weather; the sun was shining from the start of the ceremony until the last dance. The wedding guests had lots of fun enjoying the weather in the venue’s vast gardens set right on the edge of Bodmin Moor. The breathtaking scenery, coupled with fabulous live acoustic music, delicious home baked cakes, gorgeous sunshine and large sprinkling of love and happiness produced the perfect wedding day from the bride and groom and their friends and family!!!

We love being a wedding photographer in the South West. We are based in Plymouth, Devon and cover weddings in Bristol, London and Cornwall, but as Liberty Pearl Photography is a destination wedding photographer we are happy to take bookings anywhere in the UK or abroad.

La Belle Wedding Magazine Styled Wedding Shoot – Cornwall

What a lovely way to spend the day, photographing a beautiful bride for a La Belle Wedding Magazine festival wedding feature. We went to one of my favourite Cornish wedding venues  The Green Cornwall, which is a luxurious Cornish escape, set in a private estate surrounded by orchards, meadows, a lake, and the stunning skylines of Cornwall’s iconic mining heritage. The weather was unpredictable at times so we had to dash between the house, gardens and cottages to avoid the showers, but this made the day a lot more fun!

A huge thank you to the following local suppliers for making the photo shoot a success. The beautiful dress was provided by The Wedding Company in Plympton, and the colourful bouquets were made by Honours Flowers. Our breathtaking model Becky Smith was styled by Gem Ryder Make Up Artist and Vogue Hair. The beautiful venue was The Green Cornwall. Please take a look at the photos, we absolutely love the photos and are very pleased with the results!

Engagement shoot – Brobury Scar Woods Hereforshire

The sun was shining down through the treetops to highlight this beautiful couple on their Pre Wedding photo shoot. We were really lucky with the weather, though I think not even rain could have washed the smile off their faces. The couple who walking so lovingly through Brobury Scar Woods in Herefordshire, were happy as could be.  The woodland was very impressive with tall trees enveloped by leafy moss and lightened by beautiful natural sunshine.

To finish off the pre wedding shoot we walked through a stunning field full of bright yellow rapeseed flowers, it was like walking through an angelic yellow heaven. The couple were full of many smiles and kisses!

I’m really looking forward to their beautiful wedding this summer in Brobury House in Herefordshire, which has some beautiful gardens and grounds, positioned high above the river Wye xx

Grublin Games – Waggle Dance

Build a beehive, collect pollen and make honey – be efficient, be strategic, outmanoeuvre your opponents! Waggle Dance is a euro-style worker-placement dice game for 2-4 players, designed by Mike Nudd & published by Grublin Games Publishing. To put it on the market, we were booked to photograph the prototype ‘Waggle Dance’ game in the unique community run social enterprise pub BreadandRoses in Plymouth, Devon.

It was an interesting afternoon and the models had great fun exploring the new game. Everybody was getting hooked on the game and learning how to us cunning strategy needed to win the game.

This amazing new board game will only be funded if at least £15,000 is pledged by Sun, Jun 29 2014 11:59 PM BST.

If you would like to back this game please visit the Waggle Dance KickStarter webpage and make a pledge.

More info about the Waggle Dance game…

Waggle Dance is a worker placement dice game where your bees take the form of dice… lots and lots of beautiful dice.  There are two phases to the game, a Day and a Night phase.  During the Day, each player rolls their bee dice and takes turns assigning their bees to different actions within the hive.  Each action enables the players to improve and grow the hive, taking them a step closer to their ultimate goal – HONEY!!!!  Once the Day phase is complete, the night phase triggers and each of the actions are resolved and the hive grows.

It’s up to you how to achieve this… Do you focus on pollen collection, increasing your bee population, expanding your hive, seeking favour with the queen or splitting your resources to accomplish all of these?

Whatever you choose, the natural world is a competitive environment and you can be sure the other players will be looking to maximise their advantage so choose wisely and be efficient!

Jeremiah’s Journey – A Jolly Toddle at Buckland

On Sunday 11th May lots of families took part in our first ever Teddy Bear Toddle at the beautiful Buckland Abbey. The sun shone as families met and registered for the 2 mile walk. Jeremiah was on hand to say hello and we even had Cinderella there to greet our little guests. The Toddle was completed at individuals own pace, gently strolling through the beautiful woodlands laced with bluebells, the cows popped over to say hello and the sheep were very excited to see everyone passing through!

Using the Explorers Map the children could take part in a Teddy Trail with questions to answer teddies hidden along the route. On completing the walk every child received a goody bag complete with their own certificate and lots of other treats.

Although we experienced a few showers it didn’t dampen the mood as the children enjoyed a picnic and dancing with Cinderella, there was also colourful face painting and a raffle with lovely treats to win, including these delicious cupcakes by the Cheeky Cake Company.
