A Lake District Adventure

Even though I am usually a wedding and portrait photographer, a selection of beautiful landscape photographs should not be kept hidden way on a computer forever. Liberty Pearl Photography went for an adventure around the stunning scenery of Lake District this winter. Only a few places in England can measure up to this outlandishly beautiful lake and mountain region. The landscape is breathtaking, a sweeping panorama of humpbacked mountains, razor blade crags and scree-covered hillsides, strewn with mountainous tarns and some of the largest natural lakes anywhere in the UK.

As you can see from the images, lakes and rivers, diverse landscape, ancient woodlands and the variety of geology is what makes Lake District such a unique and lovely place, perfect for a trip with family or friends.

Autumn Winter family photo shoot in Devon – Saltram House

I wanted to test out a location for wintery family photo shoots, so Liberty Pearl and I headed down to the beautiful National Trust woodland at Saltram House in Devon. The Saltram Estate is situated on the outskirts of Plymouth, so it is the perfect spot for an on location family or pre-wedding photo shoot. The autumn trees were so beautifully coloured. We had a lovely morning walking around the gardens and woodland, and I am really happy with the photos. In fact I liked them so much we used them as our Christmas cards this year!

Saltram House is a magnificent Georgian mansion and tranquil garden positioned at the heart of this historic parkland. Saltram overlooks the River Plym and is set in a rolling landscape park that provides precious green space on the outskirts of Plymouth. Strolling along the riverside or through the woodland, you can almost forget that the city lies so close. It is definitely worth a visit.
