Destination Wedding – Kristof and Eva Get Married in Le Manoir de Clenord

Here at Liberty Pearl Photo & Film Collective, there’s nothing we love more than a destination wedding.

Kristof and Eva’s French celebration highlighted many of the reasons why.

They had chosen the idyllic venue of Manoir de Clenord, which is nestled in lush greenery in the heart of the Loire Valley.

They spent the day beforehand celebrating with a beautiful outdoor brunch with their friends and family and then on the day of the actual wedding, the relaxed and rustic vibe continued long into the night.

One of the big reasons they chose to get married in such beautiful surroundings was because of the weather and being able to have the ceremony outside.

Every stage of their special day was as memorable as the next.

The bridesmaids wore different shades of coral whilst Eva’s stylish long-sleeved lace gown by Rime Arodaky perfectly complemented their surroundings.

The flowers were a blend of pinks and corals and looked stunning dotted around the venue and in tabletop displays. Another highlight for us was that amazing wedding awning!

Getting married abroad: Reasons to elope for your big-day

Elopement in Ibiza Europe

Dreaming of a beach wedding? Or perhaps you’re just looking to celebrate an intimate affair away from home, in a setting than means something to the both of you…

Whether you just want to be sure of sun on your wedding day, or you have the perfect destination in mind, there are plenty of reasons to consider a wedding abroad.

There’s something special about getting married abroad. The beautiful surroundings, different cultures, and stunning landscapes… the list could go on. As a photographer, the bright light in sunnier destinations also comes in handy. I’m a natural light photographer so working in the beautiful sunshine is a dream!

Luckily, at Liberty Pearl Photography, I’ve had the pleasure of shooting several weddings in sunnier climes. I’ve shot weddings in Ibiza and in Pamplona, Spain, and every single destination wedding has been beautiful. Ibiza, in particular, was stunning. It was bright and light – and to top it off the couple were so stylish.

Why get married abroad?

Not sure whether to elope for your big-day? Here are just a few reasons you might like to consider…

  1. Budget
Tying your wedding in with your honeymoon can help save considerable costs. Of course, you’ll make huge savings on guest numbers and expenses too. If you’ve got a big family and lots of friends it can be hard trying to limit your guest list, so eloping to a far-flung destination can sometimes be the answer.
  1. Weather
Even in summer we’re not guaranteed abundant sunshine, so if a sun-soaked backdrop is really important to you it might be worth taking a trip abroad. Do make sure you research foreign weather before choosing a location. Some popular destinations, for example, in the Caribbean, are well known for their heavy downpours and erratic weather patterns.
  1. Family
If you have family that live abroad it’s an excellent opportunity to spend some quality time with them while enjoying the gorgeous setting. Of course, these destinations might not always be the sunniest, but they still offer a whole host of excitement and culture to take advantage of.
  1. Special Place
Finding the right wedding venue can be a struggle for some couples. It’s a place you’ll be associating with your marriage forever, so you don’t want to have to settle for the best of the bunch. Perhaps there’s a place the two of you have holidayed together and holds memories of good, happy times? If so, why not consider tying the knot there?

How to get married abroad

If you are thinking of tying the knot abroad, here a few tips to ensure stress-free planning:

  1. Secure your preferred photographer well ahead of your big-day. They will need plenty of notice as it’s likely to take up more than one or two days of their time.
  2. Make sure you do lots of research and firm up legal documentation required and costs before committing.
  3. If you’ve opted for a tropical country, make sure the ceremony is not during the hottest part of the day.
  4. Be as helpful as possible to all your wedding guests. Organising their transport and accommodation is a must.
  5. Make the most of virtual conferencing technology such as Skype to interact with your suppliers and get to know them prior to the day.

English wedding photographer in New York

I would love to photograph a wedding on my trip to New York this winter.

Are you getting married in New York this winter?

Are you a wedding planner with weddings booked in New York this winter?

Do you write for a New York Wedding blog?

If so I would love to hear from you and work with you so please get in contact.

Here’s my story…..

Amber-McCarthy-Devon-Wedding-and-portrait-photographerI am a professional wedding photographer based in the UK. I am travelling
to New York over the Christmas period in 2015 (dates 17th December 2015 –  5th January 2016). I am really looking for the opportunity to work with a New York wedding planner to photograph a beautiful winter wedding.

I am a destination wedding photographer and have photographed a diverse range of weddings across Europe, and I would love to shoot a winter wedding in New York City this winter.

I need to connect with a bride and groom so I can photograph their wedding? I know it is very short notice so there is also the possibility of a pre-wedding shoot instead?

I know this sounds unusual but I would love to do this for free (my fee is usually $2600). I just had the idea that I would love to be a blessing to couple on their wedding day due to it being Christmas, but if the couple insisted on paying me I would donate the money to a great charity.

I am planning to get this wedding featured on an international wedding blog; I have been featured on 7 top UK/ international wedding blogs in the last 12 months alone including Mr & Mrs Unique, Want That Wedding, Wed Magazine, Juno & Joy, Festival Brides, Coco Wedding Venues, and The Wedding Community.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries.

I look forward to hearing from you very soon xxxx

Destination wedding – Pamplona Spain

Destination wedding in Pamplona Spain, Iruña, Navarra with Raquel and Javier. I had such an amazing time at this beautiful Spanish destination wedding this summer. The wedding was designed by the very talented wedding planner and designer La demi Mandarine!

The wedding was full of so much love and happiness and sunshine. My favourite elements of the wedding were the ceiling of peach and white roses, a room draped with layer upon layer of vintage lace, the beautiful natural evening light shining through the mountain forest onto the smiling faces of the wedding guests before the ceremony, the exquisite sushi and cocktail bar, the green candy table (I love everything green), the 100 white balloons being released into the sky at midnight, the swimming pool with floating floral reefs, the hilarious stand up comedian, the funky photo booth, a makeup artist in the evening for the ladies, and not to forget the dancing until 8am! The wedding was designed/styled by the bride herself and the transformation from start to finish was absolutely amazing, such a talented lady! So this unbelievably is 100% DIY wedding!

It was quite unusual in the fact that it was 100% reportage style wedding photo shoot, this means absolutely no planning of shots before hand, no ‘required’ shot list, no bride and groom posed portrait photos, just 100% natural reportage style photos truly capturing the essence and ambience of the day with no interference!  My style is always natural reportage but I do mix in a few informal portraits (usually upon grandma’s request!). The reason this wedding was different? The groom didn’t want a photographer, the only way he would allow it was on the condition there were no posed photos… and the groom was very happy so I am very pleased!!

Destination bride and groom – Ibiza honeymoon photo shoot

This is why I love being a destination photographer. I was so excited about this honeymoon photo shoot when it was booked earlier this year. The beautiful Devon couple were married in Mexico in January and booked their honeymoon in Ibiza this summer. The couple wanted a photo shoot to remember their month long honeymoon on the beautiful white isle.

We started the photo shoot at 7.30am to avoid the harsh midday sunshine. We took a walk around the beautiful neighbourhood of Santa Eulalia Ibiza, the sun was scorching even at this time. The little people are the couple’s gorgeous boys. What a lovely idea for a honey moon.

I can’t wait for my next destination wedding / honeymoon booking in Ibiza!!! I love being an international wedding photographer. Even though I am based in Plymouth in Devon, I cover weddings in Bristol, London and Cornwall and I am happy to take bookings anywhere in the UK or abroad.
